Orientation Days for International Students

Organized by the Centre for International Relations, Orientation Days for International Students took place on September 7th and 8th.

In this academic year, Eszterházy Károly University has nearly 200 international students coming from 30 countries (Mexico, Republic of South Africa and Mongolia, among others) on 4 continents: America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Within the framework of Erasmus+, most students study at Eger campus while Károly Róbert Campus in Gyöngyös has Stipendium Hungaricum students. As in previous years, the highest number of students came from Turkey and Spain. This is the first time Eszterházy Károly University has students from Laos, Syria and Georgia.


On the first day of the orientation, programmes took place at the two campuses simultaneously while on the second day, freshers gathered at Eger campus. This was the first time students from Eger and Gyöngyös attended information sessions together.

They participated in team building games and they were get acquainted with the University and Eger as well. Morning session began in Agria TISZK followed by a traditional lunch in the „Nemzeti" restaurant. In the afternoon, approximately 100 students visited the marvellous baroque halls, the Tittel Pál library and the Magic Tower.


During this semester, international students will take part in several university programmes. Hungarian students are also welcome to attend the traditional Global Cooking Night and the International Night (in November).
