Description of the grading system at Eszterhazy Karoly Univeristy of Applied Sciences

The five-point scale:

5 - jeles / Excellent

4 - jó / Good

3 - közepes / Average

2 - elégséges / Pass

1 - elégtelen / Fail

In case of some courses when no grade is awarded we use only Pass/Fail.

 

Converting local grades to ECTS grades:

ECTS Grade EKU Grades Definition
A 5 EXCELLENT - outstanding performance with only minor errors
B 4 GOOD - generally sound work with a number of notable errors
C 3 SATISFACTORY - fair but with significant shortcomings
D 2 SUFFICIENT - performance meets the minimum criteria
E 2 PASS - performance meets the minimum criteria
FX 1 FAIL - some more work required before the credit can be awarded
F 1 FAIL - considerable further work is required

 

The average academic load per semester is 30 ECTS credits.
